Review : The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

One of my reason being inactive last year is because I was having a massive breakout because of new skincare trials. It is probably one of the most terrifying breakout that I ever had in my life and I was in a desperate state to find something that could help me through those hard moments. D:

I had read so many good reviews about The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil but since I'd failed with several products before, I didn't have much hopes in it. I was simply thinking I will only give this one a try before I go to dermatologist.

Well... I did make a right choice.

Review Dr. Jart+ CTRL-A Liquid Foam and Spot Out

As someone who have an acne prone skin, having a stock of great acne medication is a must for me because I will never know when the acne will come. That's why I'm so lucky to be given this Ctrl - A series from Dr. Jart+ previous event. o.o

DR. JART+ CTRL-A LIQUID FOAM

This is the liquid facial wash from CTRL-A series. 

The bottle was made from sturdy plastic. Just like the other product from Dr. Jart+, it also had a clean design without many pattern or fancy color.

Creates soft lather when mixed with water.

I thought it will be drying but it isn't. Surprisingly, it also had a cooling sensation when I washed my faces. It feels like they are pouring mint extract inside LOL. Great to use especially in the morning to refresh your sleepy face hehe. I think it also helps to soothe your skin with the cool sensation. 

Unfortunately, I don't know why but it breaks me out after a week T-T. So I'd stopped using this facial foam and back with my previous cleanser.

DR. JART+ CTRL-A SPOT OUT

First of all, I was wondering about what kind of tool is this.It looks like a concealer pen but slightly bigger. It's CTRL - A Spot Out to clear and prevent breakouts... or in other words, an acne gel.

It took me some time before I had a big war with acne to try on this product. Most of acne medication that I ever tried is drying and painful (burning sensation that aren't comfortable), some of them are stick and make my face looks oily :( I wonder if this one could change my mind about acne medication. 

The size is quite big and remind me of stabilo that I used on my school days. It has three tiny holes in front to let the products out. It also had a secure stopper by rotating the back side, so it will not accidentally being pressed and messed up your bag. o.o

 

It comes in gel and also very watery. It easily dissolves into your skin and create such a nice cooling sensation that let your acne calm down from its inflamation. Feels like put a cooling gel on a burning skin ^.^ Moreover it will be absorbed into your skin easily since it comes in gel and will not leave any sticky or uncomfortable feeling. Since it could be really drying, use it only on the problematic area :)

It works wonderfully on my acne. The results vary depends on the acne's type. It work fast on small bumps and takes a little time on bigger bumps. No need to pop out the acne or painful experience at all.

And it is really easy to bring with so you can use it anywhere. ^.^

The only problem that I had is, no matter I tried to press it gently, it always come with too much product  so sometimes I think it's kinda a waste because it is actually designed to put the product on several spots but ended up with pouring too much products all the time. 

And seriously it had solved about all acne medication that I ever had. ^.^ I'm totally love this acne gel so much that I will never forget to bring it with me when I had an acne!

Overall, I'm really satisfied with CTRL - A Spot Out but unfortunately not with their liquid foam :( The price itself is kinda pricey (you can check their price in my previous post here ) but as long as it works, I think it equals with the results that you get.  :D

As promised, I'm back with Pond's New Complete Solution review. Sorry if it does take a long time because I'd prepared something unusual.

I spent a week to prepare all the properties and create the video :') I know it's not perfect but I really enjoyed the process because it's been a long time since I made a stop motion video for my college's assignments years ago. Moreover, they bring such a really nice concept and I was inspired to bring it in this video.

1. CLEANSE

I think this is a very basic and simple rule in all skincare methods. Good skin come from a great cleansing. A simple truth from me. Sometimes I forget to wash my face and go straight to bed. The next day, I will wake up with new and fresh acne or pimple. So I'd learned not to skip the cleansing process no matter how tired I am now :)

The scrub is really gentle and almost unnoticeable. It will dissolved immediately after you pour it with water, so don't worry about the scrubs as it will not irritate your skin :)

After usage, it left my skin a nice clean and matte feeling. The best part is my T-Zone is not as oily as usual. Less oily means less acne (for me). So I think the oil control does really work :9 Recommend if you're having problem with excessive oil in your face like mine. 

POND'S Clear Solution Oil Control Cleansing Wipes

It is damp enough when I take it out from the pack. I prefer damp cleansing wipes than the dry one because I feel that it could cleanse better. The formula is really light and doesn't left any greasy feeling after usage. I love it ^_^ .

Let's see how good it is on removing makeup

It could remove my bb cream and lip products but my eyeliner is still there. Not budged at all. I rub the eyeliner many times before it had finally gone. I guess it isn't meant to remove 'hardcore' makeup and more suitable for daily use. For example, there could be no way you will stay gorgeous if you're going on public transportation in Jakarta, stuck in terrible traffic, exposed to dirts, pollution, and sweat.  So you need this to re-fresh the whole face xD #truestory

Dr. Eddy told us, using oil control film could clog your pores which may lead to acne in the future. x_X I was shocked because when my face is getting oily, I will surely take out my oil control film without knowing that I'd packed more dirts into my pores. So it is better to wipe your face clean with cleansing face wipes.

Cleansing wipes is one of my must-have-items in my bag now. I spent most of my time outside and of course I couldn't bring facial foam right? So it's really handy to have them in my bag. If I have to go home late and I need to wash my face, I could simply use them. That's why I always keep a pack of wet wipes and facial wipes in my bag. Just in case of emergency. :P

Although you'd wiped your face clean with the cleansing wipes, but I still encourage you to wash your face properly with facial foam right after you get home :)   

2. COMBAT

POND'S Overnight Pimple Gel

This pimple gel contains aloe vera and salicylic acid. Aloe vera is known as a great ingredients to remove excess oil and soothe skin.  And yes, it has a nice soothing-cool sensation when applied. It is used to calm down reduce acne, redness, etc. Judging from the gel's name, it is recommended to use it before your bed time as it is the perfect time when your skin regenerate and recover itself. I used it twice on a new acne and it's gone before popping out. :D

 REMEMBER to use it properly only on the problematic area (such as on your acne or pimple). And please DO NOT apply it on the entire face since it won't help to heal your acne or pimple faster either. Just dot the gel with your finger or use a cotton bud. :)

3. COVER 

I bet most of us experienced that acne somehow will appear magically right before our important event. That's how do I feel. :/ I have no acne for the whole month and right before my birthday, a big acne come out. #flip table

That's the reason why we need a concealer. We could have more confidence in our precious moment such as date, birthday, anniversary, prom, party, you named it. :9

Mad cheap!

They had one shade at the moment and it match into most of our skintone (Asian woman). If it doesn't match with your skintone, you can always layer a BB cream afterwards. I was told that they might bring more colors in the future too. :D

It has medium coverage, glides easily, and handy as it comes in stick. It has a really creamy texture and can be easily blended by finger. Moreover, this concealer is formulated to cover your acne and take care of it at the same time. Great products!

I really LOVE this concealer!

It's really affordable and works well at the same time. I use it to cover my acne scars and redness now. :3 I don't know how it could be that creamy and glides beautifully although it come in stick. Most of concealer stick that I'd tried were dry and hard to blend. This is my favourite products from the whole range <3 Seriously, you should try it out :D

Another thing that I need to survive at 'school' from PONDS

Overall, I could only say that this new range is a big hit for those who are having problem with oily skin and acne. Somehow I kinda feel that it is specially invented for the teenagers. xD I remember how pricey a skincare set cost me back then. It's really hard for me to find a skincare that suitable for teenagers. But now you can easily find them on the nearest store or supermarket.

Pond's 101 Acne Class : Pond's Acne Solution Launching

In August, Ponds invited me to come and join their event by sending this invitation to my home.

I was really excited but I thought that I wouldn't make it in the first place because the venue is way too far. >_< Then later on, Endi told me that he would like to come together with me to the event so I have a companion. :D *so happy*

I have such a really perfect score in every subject LOL :9

When I arrived, I was kinda surprised because PONDS team had changed the whole room into a  highschool area. They had their own library, canteen, basketball court, and also a UKS (a medical center at school). I suddenly missed my highschool and feel so old already.

We were also given a true-false quiz paper and turned out no one can answer it all correctly. o.o 

I couldn't tell how much I was impressed every time I come to PONDS event. It feels like you will always be surprised by them. They always come up with a creative and interesting concept. Just like when I come to their previous Polkadot Party event. :)

We were gathering at the UKS class and our fun-good-looking teacher, dr. Eddy Karta Sp.KK, started to explain about 10 most common problem for teens.

Although I'm no longer a teenager, but I understand how does it feel since I was also one of them. I was having a hard time back then to fight against acne and oily skin. Moreover, acne is the worst confidence killer in my opinion. It feels embarassed to hang around the school with acne.

For example when dr. Eddy told us that getting angry is not good for your skin. So, don't get angry too often, ladies :P

This session is really helpful because sometimes we aren't really sure about it. Several things that I thought as fact turned out wrong! o.o

Experiencing BliV Skincare

Hi everyone :D

One of the reason that I didn't blog for months lately (besides doing my thesis) is because of this...

I look totally HORRIBLE -_-

I don't know why but there are times when my face is getting really sensitive. Even when I'm not changing any of my skincare regime. :/ New acne is coming everyday and I was having no time at all to pay more attention for it. I was really afraid if it continued and make my face even worse T ^ T .Until one day, the PR of b.liv contacted me by e-mail if I might be interested to try on their skincare products or not. I was really expecting a great results through their products.

And here they are... b.liv is really generous for giving me fullsized product to be reviewed.

I really really had a big expectation.

1. B.LIV NO SPOTS BYE DOTS (Blemish Cleansing Gel)

The cleanser comes in gel form which is quite new for me as I never tried any gel cleanser before. It is packed inside a bottle made from plastic. Pretty safe if I dropped it accidentally (but so far I havent't).

And it has a pump to get the product out <3 Hygienic and easy to use. I only need to remove the clip under the pump, use it, and put the clip back. :)

You only need 1-1.5 pump to cleanse the entire face :D

 It's really gentle and I started to notice the difference in my first week using this cleanser. :) It helps to calm down and prevent any acne to sit on my skin. My skin feels moist without any tight feeling after usage. The only thing that might bothering you is the fragrance. It's quite strong so I don't really recommend these for those who have an allergic towards fragranced skincare. But after few times usage, I'd get used to it and it's no longer a big matter for me.

 2. B.LIV OFF WITH THOSE HEADS (Blackheads Sebum Gel)

Blackheads! One of my biggest enemy that I could never get rid of.

It comes in plastic bottle with a pump and quite tiny so you can bring it along when travelling. 

Comes in a light clear gel that can be spread easily. It turn into watery texture and then absorbed quickly into the skin. And I must said I was quite impressive with the results. I usually didn't see any difference in any blackhead removers product. Not even in pore-pack. But after using this for a month, I could see that it reduce my blackhead gradually.

It is not completely gone but less visible :) This is the first blackhead products that works on me.

3. B.LIV SPOTS GOT SHOTS (Blemish Treatment Serum)

The next product is the blemish treatment serum.

The texture is creamy yet watery. This serum could help to calm and reduce acne. :D Works well without any itchy feeling or harsh peeling effect which some acne medication does. It doesn't magically make your acne disappear within a night, but it takes around 3-4 days depending on your skin condition. I guess there aren't any products that could make your acne completely gone in a night. So it's normal for me :)

 But it has the weirdest scent I ever smell LOL! It smells like 'sterile' (imagine hospital!) in the beginning, but later it turned out to be something that I cannot describe hahaha. But still works well although it has a weird scent LOL.

 4. B.LIV KICK SPOTS OUT (Intensive Treatment Mask)

The last thing is the facial mask <3

As you can see, the essence might not be as many as other mask, but I just love it. Why? Because if it contains too many essence, when I put it on my face, the essence will be drip where and make such a mess. 

Let the mask sit still on your face for 2-30 minutes

and do something interesting maybe?

No dripping at all! The mask sheet is not too thin or thick. And I feel so refreshed after using this mask although I didn't see an obvious results after using it. It might need several usage to see the difference but it doesn't break me out :D After you took it off, gently pat the rest of the essence with your finger

OVERALL

In the first week using b.liv skincare, I could see that my acne is reducing and not coming as much as before. I also didn't experience any breakouts. Then after a month, the amount of acne is reduced significantly. 

And this is me after 2 months using Bliv.

So, I'm really satisfied with all these products! :D They worked super nice on me and helped me to achieve my smooth skin back! <3 Love them very much. I'm personally think that the price itself might be quite expensive for student budget. But you get what you paid :D In several condition (i.e you are having many breakouts or acne), don't mess around with your face by using untrusted skincare products.

An extra story for you... 

Especially for those who are always wondering about international shippings

 Bliv PR told me when she sent the products and also provide me with the tracking number.The products came a little bit late and when I was checking on the delivery status.. it was postponed in Indonesia for about 1 week!-_- Moreover the expedition charged me around US$20 even after they write down the product as a gift. I don't know why but this is a big disadvantages and the main reason why we (Indonesians) rarely do any international shoppings. Probably in the future, they can help to deliver the products to their customer without any additional fee. Although I know -_- it's just our country sucks and always make us gone through hard condition regarding taxes and so on.
